STUDENT INJURED BY A STRAY BULLET STILL ALIVE

It is now apparent that the deceased student is called Edwin Kabiru Nyawira Alias Cartel. The late is a 3rd year student in the school of Arts and Social Sciences and was pursuing Bachelor of Arts ( Kiswahili). The student was found dead in one of the houses in Mabatini.

The student who was hit by a stray bullet in Kesses and alleged to have died is recuperating in Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. This was confirmed yester night by the dean of student Dr. Ayieko who talked with the victim over the phone. Moreover the other student who was hit by a Moi university security vehicle during the demonstrations yesterday is also doing well in the hospital, sources reveal.
The two Moi university vehicles, a patrol van and a pick up that were destroyed in the confrontation between the police and the irate students yesterday were towed to Kesses police station.
Police on their side accused students of attempting to disarm them of their firearms, as a student was spotted trying to snatch an AK 47 riffle from a policeman who seemed not alert and feeble. Another officer came to the rescue of his counterpart. According to an officer who sought anonymity, one who tries snatching a firearm from a police officer should be shot dead according to the law.
